Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

I have made many Classic Album films and this is one of my favourites. We were very fortunate in that archive material existed from the time that the album was recorded, and we were able to cut this together with the material that we filmed. I also feel that Elton John and Bernie Taupin still had a great affection for the album, and of the period that it was recorded, and this together with the fact that the album included a number of their greatest songs made for a great film, and this was borne out when it was nominated for an Emmy upon its release.

This is the opening from the film, which leads into the title song from the album, and is a good example of how we were able to fuse together all the elements we had at our disposal when we came to edit the film.
